God is Calling

God is Calling

GOD IS CALLING

Psalm 62:11 “Just go step by step. My will shall be revealed as you go. Be at peace and trust. My power will invigorate you.”

As I begin my Lent journey, that psalm reading reached out to me. Going slowly and confidently in this continuing global pandemic is a call to face our personal sacrifice in compassionate solidarity with our families, communities and our world. We are called to stay committed to God’s love in trust and peace. We are called to be faithful to God’s promises so God’s grace can invigorate, strengthen and help us. As we continue our Lent journey, temptations and boulders litter the way. Daily circumstances arise to pull us away from God and leave us to stumble in annoyance, bitterness, resentment, fear or self-interest. For some the pandemic appears to be a huge inconvenience while for others they are facing daily dangers trying to keep us safe. During Lent we have the opportunity to re-examine how we are coping with our daily lives and if we are allowing God’s grace to move us forward.

Matthew 4:18-22 “Come follow me.”

Jesus calls ordinary people, living ordinary lives, to do extra-ordinary things. We find God in the daily activities of our lives and as we commit ourselves to go step by step walking with God, amazing things do occur. During this Lent journey, listen to God’s call to simple opportunities to be at peace yet invigorated to move our world forward in compassion and solidarity with all who we encounter.

Isaiah 41:10

“So do not fear, for I am with you: do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and help you.”  Blessings during your Lent time listening to God’s call.
