The Search Continues…

The Search Continues…

Earlier this spring I joined our parish community to follow a zoom series called THE SEARCH. I would like to share some of my reflections from that prayer time. One of the things that happened for me was the many questions that came to my mine.

*”Man needs joy to live.” St. Francis shared, “Imitate the bees, who do not leave a flower as long as they can extract some honey from it.”My joy is expressed in my creative spirit. Where do I find my honey-joy? How do I express my joy in my creative spirit?

*”We have been made by God for God.” Do I believe St. Augustine when he said we are restless until we rest in God? Do I believe God searches for me and invites me into a personal relationship?

*We are invited to listen to and study scripture as a great love story.  Do I get a glimpse of the intimacy of God calling me “the beloved?” Do I take the time to be still and know God in the quiet of my heart? Do I use love to determine what scripture means?

*”Many things change when one thing changes.” Do I believe God can use me to be an instrument of change in the world? Do I believe one loving act of kindness can ripple through the universe?

In Marks gospel, (Chapter 4 vs 33), Jesus speaks of the mustard seed. The kingdom of God is “like a mustard seed, which when sown upon the ground, is the smallest of all seeds on earth; yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes the greatest of all shrubs.”

This message encourages me to never underestimate the smallest act of love in God’s name. I am part of the Body of Christ and I will continue to ponder my questions.

Thank you Lord for your blessings as my search continues…
