The Kingdom of God

The Kingdom of God

Is the Kingdom of God a Kingdom in Heaven after death?.

Yes it is, but it is larger than that.  The Kingdom is present here and now, wherever God resides, which as we understand is everywhere.  He is the Ruler, the King of the kingdom.  His unconditional love is ever present and available to us for the asking, for the acknowledgement of it.

I came across a statement of what the kingdom of God “WAS NOT” and it set me thinking, questioning and examining myself.  It read, The Kingdom of God is NOT ABOUT earning and deserving.  It is about believing and receiving.  How many times have I said to God, “God I really don’t think I deserve this.”  I promise to do better.  Most times I am dissatisfied with my behavior and I tend to feel unworthy of God’s love.  I, at times, unconsciously punish myself by withdrawing from God and attribute the distance between us to HIS displeasure.  Instead of returning to God and receiving His love, I attempt to earn His approval by trying harder to deserve His love.  This is where the ‘SHOULDS’ come in: I should be doing this, I should be doing that to earn His approval and love.  But His everlasting arms are always extended to receive me, longing to enfold me in His merciful, forgiving love that is always readily available.  Not given just because we are good, for He has already given us His whole being, His body, His blood, His Life and He waits for us to come to Him as we are, without any conditions.   HE IS THE GIFT THAT CONTINUOUSLY gives —bounteously with no strings attached.  It is we, in our human condition, who attach the strings and feel we must earn or deserve our salvation.  Salvation is a GIFT from HIM, NO STRINGS ATTACHED

Duet:  33:27  The Eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.

Psalm 13:5 But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in Your salvation.
