That question brings a smile to my face as I remember the road trips where the question was asked for what seemed like the “millionth” time! Some of the questions now are “when will this end? “What will “THERE” look like when we get there?” “Will there be a “new normal”? “ “Will things ever be the same?” I am beginning to see a bigger paradigm shift as more people finally get the message to move from a “Me” to a “We” mentality. We are all in this together!
At the beginning of Lent, I looked at Preface 11 in our Living with Christ missalette. It reads “For you have given your children a sacred time for the renewing and purifying of their hearts, that, freed from disordered affections, they may deal with the things of this passing world as to hold to things that eternally endure.” I humbly made my plans and prayed fervently for help to carry them out. Well my prayers were answered; but not how I had expected. While participating in daily mass on T.V. the priest said “This is a time when we are getting a “Spiritual Upgrade” We have “more of an opportunity to fast and pray,” and “more time to grow a deeper awareness of God in everyday life.”
I am fortunate that I do not have to go out to fight this war. I pray with deep compassion while making my spiritual communion for the people on the front lines and for those who have already passed from this dreadful virus. I remember as I unite my prayers with all those all over the world that God has not deserted us. “As a child rests in its mothers’ arms “so do we need to rest in the arms of our Loving God.” A friend sent me the picture being circulated all over the world of Jesus holding us.
John14:12 says, “In My Father’s house there are many dwellings ” As Christians we know that our true homeland is in heaven. The Father’s house is there. In the meantime, on earth: we trust in our loving and faithful God and in His Mercy….as we are held in loving arms. If you are anxious see Jesus holding you in His LOVING ARMS.
