Dear Parishioners,

This week is the 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time. We hope that if you were unable to register to attend public mass that you are able to join us for our live streamed mass at 10AM. **Please be aware that due to COVID-19, Archbishop Gerard has given dispensation for all Sunday obligations. This means you are not obligated to attend mass, and we will continue to live-stream Sunday mass on our Facebook page until the dispensation has been lifted.

Another reminder that we have changed the entrance to the church to be through the admin/hall entrance of the building (the doors to the south of the Bell Tower).  This is especially important as it gets colder outside.  We cannot expect people to stand outside while waiting to go through the screening process.

Disturbing the Peace (DTP) Youth Conference: This year DTP is online, but we are gathering as a youth group (in a Covid-safe way) participate together. We will gather and watch it live together on the big screen in Tranquille Hall from 2pm until 8pm. There will be great speakers, including Jason Ballard from Alpha Youth, and comedy in the evening from Matt Falk. For questions contact April at stjoesyouthgp@gmail.com and to register click here. There are only 15 spots available so get your tickets quick!

Left are  dates for Adoration for the next few months.  We begin Adoration at 7:00 P.M. and finish at about 7:45 P.M.  We no longer have Mass connected with Adoration. You do not need to sign-up for Adoration, simply show up.  We hope you can join us for this sacred time of prayer in His Real Presence.

We would like to continue to invite you to join us for Reconciliation from 1-2pm on Fridays (no-sign-up-necessary).

Workshop on Diocese and Parish Relationships.  Archbishop Gerard Pettipas has created a workshop on the relationship between a diocese and its many parishes.  Before the pandemic, his plan was to offer this workshop by deanery, and had done so three times: in Peace River, in Girouxville, and in St-Isidore in French.  Since mass gatherings are problematic at this time, I will be offering this same workshop by Zoom.  It will no longer be by deanery – anyone may attend, simply by registering for it beforehand (so that you can receive the invitation and link).  The initial workshops will be on Thursday evening October 15th, from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm, and on Friday afternoon October 16th, from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

Archbishop’s Dinner.  For the past several years, each deanery in turn would host an Archbishop’s Dinner.  The chancery staff have come up with a way of having an Archbishop’s Dinner on line.  It will be a live-streamed cooking show that everyone in the archdiocese can access this. In exchange for a free-will offering, I will send you a copy of my recipe. There will be a silent auction on-line throughout that day. This will take place on FridayNovember 6th, 2020.  By then, my staff may have added another element or two to this event.  Watch for details on the archdiocesan website at www.archgm.ca

We encourage you to continue using our new method of signing up online and also a kind reminder that your spiritual home still needs your support- find out more on how to donate online.
