RISE UP, and have a blast at Disturbing the Peace 2018!
Caleb Joel Barkman (aka CJ Barks) as our DTP conference speaker! Caleb is the Director of Youth Ministries at Grande Prairie Alliance Church for the last 10 years, and the innovator behind the recently launched drop-in centre “The Landing.” As a PK (Pastors Kid) Caleb went to his first youth event at 3 months old and was hooked immediately. His greatest pursuits are to lift the name of Jesus high in his life and among others, while seeking to awaken the wonder of God by speaking truth, even when uncomfortable.
Our weekend concert will feature Christian recording artist The Royal Foundry, an Albertan band with a passion to spread Christ! Creating music that is bridging the gap between acoustic and modern electric sound, they are fusing the acoustic-intimacies of their debut album with the electric/onic heart of their latest tracks.
The talented Christian improv group Slap Happy Comedy is coming to DTP! Bringing spontaneous characters to the stage with unexpected and hilarious results, SHC has performed improvisational and sketch comedy shows across the country. SHC members have performed with national tours such as the “We Can Make You Laugh Comedy Tour” and “River City Improv.”
Returning as the crowd favorite, we are looking forward for the dynamic worship lead by hopefulson. They are a collection of musicians, songwriters & worship leaders based out of Calgary Alberta, who are passionate about creating worship experiences that make it easy to engage with Jesus!
We are excited to see God work as we RISE UP as a generation of Peace Country influencers for Jesus’s kingdom in our schools, churches, communities, and country (Matt. 28:19-20)!
***Disturbing the Peace (DTP) is a multi-denominational Christian youth conference put on by Grande Prairie and area Youth Pastors. DTP has a passion to help teens in the Peace Country encounter and pursue Jesus Christ with all of their hearts and to spread the Gospel message. For almost 15 years our vision has been to build up young people in Jesus Christ, to see this generation changed by the power of the Gospel, and to be united together in worship of Jesus.***
